Indonesia Los planes de Indonesia para conmemorar la Celebración del 26 de Julio implican un taller de capacitación en los recientemente creados Centros Comunitarios de Recursos Costeros localizados en los poblados de Tiwoho, en en el Norte de Sulawesi, Indonesia. El taller ofrecerá a los miembros de las comunidades locales, capacitación para desarrollar el bambú como una alternativa sustentable de material de construcción y para la elaboración de mobiliario. El uso del bambú permitirá conservar los manglares al reducir el uso de la madera de manglar para mobiliario, postes, pilotes para construcción y estructuras. De esta manera, el área de manglares puede recuperarse y regresar los cardúmenes de pesca a un nivel que permita a los pescadores locales nuevamente subsistir de este recurso natural, mientras se da una alternativa económica con la empresa del bambú. El bambú es una planta fantástica que puede ser cosechada entre 200 y 500 veces, convirtiéndola en un recurso muy eficiente y de constante renovación. Y, las plantas the bambú para este proyecto son nativas de Indonesa, no introducidas! Más aún, otras naciones del Asia y América Latina, y posibemente del Africa tienen bambú que una vez tratado contra los ataques de insectos puede durar hasta 30 años como material para la construcción. Indonesia Plans to commemorate the Celebration on July 26th are being set in motion early with a training workshop at the recently completed Coastal Communities Resource Center located in Tiwoho village, in N. Sulawesi, Indonesia. The workshop will offer local community members training on developing bamboo as an alternate, sustainable building material for building construction and for a furniture making. The use of bamboo will conserve mangroves by reducing the use of mangrove wood for furniture, posts, building supports and structural materials. In this way the mangroves of the area can be restored to health and the coastal fisheries brought back to a level whereby local fishers can again support their families via their fishing, while supplementing that income with the bamboo enterprise. Bamboo is an amazing plant that can be harvested between 200 to 500 times per plant, making it highly efficient and basically a renewable resource. And, the bamboo plants for this project are native species to Indonesia, not introduced! Moreover, other nations in Asia and Latin America, and possibly in Africa, contain useable bamboo that once treated to withstand mold and insect attacks can last for 30 years as a structurally sound and economical building material.
