BRASIL Hemos estado trabajando en Recife, Brasil. He planificado con los profesores hacer un gran proyecto para recolectar la basura en la reserva de manglares de Itamaraca, PE. Soy una investigadora que ha trabajo en la reserva por cerca de un año. Al momento tenemos algunos problemas porque el empresario propietario ha construido una barrera para impedir el ingreso de las barcas de los pescadores alrededor de su propiedad. Por lo que , ahora el agua del río tiene dificultades para ingresar a los manglares. Esta área fue anteriormente una piscina camarona, y una reforestación natural de manglar era posible anteriormente, pero con esta nueva barrera los manglares no crecerán como antes. BRASIL We have been working in the school in Recife, Brazil. I have been planning with teachers to do a big project to collect trash in the mangrove reserve in Itamaraca, PE. I am a reseacher, having worked in this reserve about one year. We now have had some problems because the business proprietor there has built a barrier because he doesn't want the fishermen's boats near his propriety. So, now the river water has some difficulty to enter the mangrove. This area was a shirmp farm in the past, and a natural regrowth of plants was before possible there, but with this new barrier it will not grow like before.
